Budgeting is a very important part of planning your dream vacation.  There several important questions you must ask yourself:

  • How long will my vacation last?
  • How many nights can I afford to spend in a hotel? Should I stay with a friend?
  • How much money will I need to feed myself each day?
  • How much money will I need for entrance fees, rental fees, incidentals, etc?
  • How will I get to my destination? Drive or fly?
  • How much will my transportation cost?
  • Do I need a passport, special tickets or reservations?

Using your research you need to create a budget for your vacation.  You can break it down into smaller categories or look for a packaged vacation that includes transportation, housing and food.

1. Transportation
2. Housing/Accommodations
3. Food
4. Entertainment
5. Incidentals

Saving money is always a great thing when traveling.  Some trips may require you to save money or make changes to save more.  When budgeting ask yourself:

  • Do I have enough money right now for my vacation or will I need to develop a savings plan?
  • How much money must I set aside each week or month?
  • Do I need to shorten my vacation to make it cheaper?

Once you've come up with a plan for budgeting your vacation, turn in a copy of your budget and an explanation of how you will save the money for your trip.

Just ASK!
