Printing & Copying: General Information

Printing Tutorials

  • Printing: All Library computers are networked to a printer. PaperCut is a print monitoring software that is on all computers. It monitors how much printing each person is doing per semester. We will eventually allow a set number of pages per semester at no charge, based upon this trial period. The goal is to reduce the amount of paper used on campus. See the next box for more details.
  • Scanner: We have a scanner available on the back table in the back lab.
  • Color Printer: The Learning Center has the only color printer for students. Ours are all black and white.

  • CopierWe have a copier available by the elevator on 2nd floor. Cost is 10¢ per page. It will accept dollar bills.

PaperCut Information

PaperCut software provides a comprehensive solution for monitoring and controlling printer usage and it is now mandated by the Texas State University System for all system schools. We plan to do "silent monitoring" to test the software and to determine a reasonable number of free prints for each LSC-O user per semester. The long range goal is to use PaperCut to restrict users to a reasonable free print quota to conserve resources and to become a more “green” campus.
